Hi guys,
I haven't seen any posts recently, so I'm hoping people are still looking at the pictures if they're not necessarily reading the posts.
Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know that I will be leaving for the African continent soon. I will be the medical director of a clinic site in SE Kenya off of Lake Victoria with an organization called Lalmba. I'll be there for 8 months (so if anybody is planning on visiting, you can always swing by for a bit).
Well, just wanted to let you know that international intrigue has continued - from the Himalayas to Lake Victoria, here we go. Go Tripod and Tippy!
Cheers,
Jeevan

Hi Jeevan! This is a test message since I have been unsuccessful before!
Sally
Okay, so that message finally worked! For some reason, I cannot use my RuralSally@Yahoo.com account. Oh well.
Big news on my front - On Oct 26 I defended my thesis and was successful. So now I can remove the "anticipated" in front of the M.Ed. on my resume and call myself Sally J. Allen, M.Ed. !!!!! Yippeeeeeeee! I have my life back!
Okay, so now this is working, you may get sick of hearing from me. I am enjoying my new job, but so far I travel a lot to get trained myself. I have gone to Atlanta once and Dallas a few times. I am in Dallas now. Last time I was here, I had dinner with Chris and Kristine. It was really nice, I don't think I acted too much like a mother. I thought I would give them a break this time, but I will call them next time I am here.
When I travel, I stay at Residence Inn, so it is like having a little apartment with a couch, chair, kitchen, tv, and stuff like that. so I can get a bottle of wine and have a relaxing evening. But this week, Charlie came home for the week, so it was awful to have him come home and then I left! But Adie Boy and Nellie Belle are happy I'm sure.
You would not believe how big Adie Boy has gotten! I am going to have to ban him from the bed - it's fine when I am alone, but when Charlie comes home, there is not enough room! It doesn't help that he likes to sleep vertical, on his back, with legs spread wide open! He's pretty damn cute though. I've tried several times to sell him, but no takers. Next, I will pay someone to kidnap him. Just kidding! He is afraid of the fly swatter, so that is my one weapon when he is naughty - I get the fly swatter and he runs for his life!!! I just made the mistake one time of swatting a fly when he was eating - and he has been scared of it ever since. I am going to Big Lots to get lots of fly swatters and I am going to hang them in places where he gets in trouble - like above the toilet paper, in the tree above where he loves to dig, and near my cookbooks that he likes to chew!!!! What was I thinking getting a damn puppy???? but in spite of all the naughty things, he has been fun.
Okay, better make this a "short" blog and save some stuff for later!!
Love,
Mom-in-Law Sally, M.Ed.
